Two weeks ago Kelsey and Chris flew from Ottawa to Edmonton for a few days. After the Craft Market weekend I wanted to go camping, but James wasn’t down for it so we decided to use the spot we found on hipcamp to make a fire, eat and chill. I had a lot of fun, being away from home.

I lit up the fire with a flint and a jet boil, which I was very proud of. The wind was way too intense to only use the flint on tinder. I enjoyed it. And Keven too, with his new llama friend. Our clothes and bags smelled like smoke but I didn’t really care.

The next day I wanted to take them to St. Albert’s Botanical Garden but nothing was growing then. Fweh fweh. We then headed to Salisbury at Enjoy to look at the plant and I definitely wasn’t the only happy one. Joe picked herself a flower plant while I chose some parsley. I wanted some hot peppers but I’ve got so many growing at home I didn’t want to spend money on something I already have. Their plants were just too impressive!

For the final day we all went out to the Muttart Conservatory for more plants beauty. I have never been there before even though I have been in Edmonton for a year and a half. I was amazed by their four climate rooms!

The kind of place where my orchids would not only survive but thrive. We took plenty of great pictures and my favorite room was definitely the desert one. Goals.
After the Conservatory we went to a Mexican restaurant that serves great Margaritas and has a Gluten Free menu. It’s called Julio’s Barrio on Whyte Ave and it was my second time there. Once again the service was outstanding and the food was great.

We wrapped it up quickly when Spence decided to evacuate and there was no changing tables in the restaurant’s washrooms. We had fun though.
We came back home and obviously before we got prepared for the big goodbye tomorrow, it was time for tattoos!
It was an overall satisfying and fun week. Stay tuned for the crazy Rocky Mountains trip that came after!
